The most generally used docklight....
When a truck is spotted, or docked
outside the building, the people inside need to be able to indicate
to the driver when it is safe to move the vehicle. This system shows
the truck driver a red light while the loading operation is taking
place from inside the building into his truck. The people inside are
shown a green light.
At the completion of loading, the lights are switched so that the truck driver sees a green light, and red is shown to the people inside.
We suggest that the electricity to operate the building door and the dock leveller be downstream from the signal lights, so the truck driver's instruction is "RED ... don't move" before loading can commence.
Comes with external reversed sign for driver information.
Three big opportunities to lose money through unwanted exchange of air from inside the building to the outside ambient temperatures....
Also..... Dust and Insects are unwanted in your dock
When a loading dock is fitted with a dock leveller, there is normally a 1" gap left all around the pit .... for very good reasons - ensures the leveller will not catch on the edges when it operates, and removes the "guillotine" action. This slot will pass a very large amount of air, particularly when the leveller is raised and working.
To minimize this loss, we offer the
edgeseal brush system, which screws
to the pit angles along the length of the leveller, and immediately
below floor level. The brushes wipe against the toe-guards of the
leveller as it works, holding a barrier to the bulk of the air
movement.

We can also spray 2" foam directly on to the underneath surface of the leveller. This will assist with temperature control, as well as reducing condensation on the deck, and reduce slipping for staff.... consult factory.
For dock openings around, say 8' [2.4
Metres] wide, this is the simple, effective way to reduce air
exchange.
Options......
For dock openings greater than 8'6"
[2.6 Metres] wide, it is not possible to seal behind the
truck.... so the Shelter is employed to reduce direct wind ingression
to the building. This item consists of a framework which juts out
from the building, and a system of flexible flaps to "wipe" along the
sides and top of the truck as it docks.

As time passes, wear and tear from juggernaughts will reduce the effectiveness of your seals and shelters..
As the loads are transferred between building and truck, the small vertical movements abrades the surface of the fabric.... split-pins in the door hinges grab and rip.
The UV effect also deteriorates the fabrics - particularly on the western wall.
Either remove them and ship to us direct, or we will quote to replace them for you.
Some exchange seals are available.

Normal architectural arrangement of a cold store is to build the coolroom with an annex along one side or end.
If the design requires full use of the
annex for order assembly, and if the external hardstand is large
enough, then the actual transfer between truck and building will
occur outside the annex.
The components include then....
These elements can take several
individual forms, which are determined by the type of road vehicles
being serviced, and the level of environmental control
required.

Consult with factory for your optimum arrangement.
